7 Reasons Why I Love Africa

Saturday, February 17, 2007

Not too many of the people I have had the pleasure of meeting during the last 9 years know that I have lived in Africa for the better part of 25 years.
As a matter of fact a big portion of my family still lives and work in West-Africa, in Nigeria to be exact.

393073975_56489d6922_m My father was born in Lagos, the capital city of Nigeria in 1943. To be exact, he was born on Broad Street in downtown Lagos, a street that is now the large artery that goes through the city. My brother and sister were also born in Lagos, in 1970 and 1977 respectively. I was my parent's only child born outside of Nigeria. I had the "priviledge" of begin born in Tripoli, Lebanon. But I digress.

My wife, Calli, had sent me 7 great photographs in an email back in May of 2006. I kept that email for so long because the photos in it were a classic portrayal of a daily life in Africa. The photographs are truly accurate. No kidding.

I hope you enjoy these photos as much as did, I even created a Flickr account so that I could share them with the world. They crack me up each and everytime I see them.

If you lived in Africa at some point in your life I would love to hear about it.
