What's New at CTO 2.0 ...

As I mentioned in an earlier blog post, I had a great time speaking at the RockNUG (Maryland .net User Group) this past Wednesday, October 8th, 2008.
RockNUG hosts their meetings at the Montgomery College Campus, and I have to admit, it felt really weird standing in front of a full classroom while "playing professor"; If you were in school with me you'd understand where I am coming from... trust me, I paid a couple of visit to the principle's office quite a few times. If only my teachers and professors could see me now, ha!

The presentation was called "DotNetNuke Module Development" a.k.a Release 2.4, and while this was supposed to be a newby session, we did, at times, dive deeper than I had anticipated. To be quite honest, I like the ad-hoc fashion of going off script, and trying a few new un-rehearsed tricks throughout the presentation; it's just more exciting that way!
The presentation's main purpose was to educate DNN newcomers in setting up their environment to start developing DNN Module; including creating a sample module project, packaging, and deploying it.
We were able to use the full 2 hours to go over everything, in fact, we covered even more than I had originally anticipated.

Overall, I think people left the room with a better understand of DotNetNuke, and its potential as a development platform, rather than its potential to be just another CMS. Mission accomplished!

If you have other DotNetNuke topics that you would like me present on please let me know, I will certainly plan of preparing for it.

I really hope to see some of folks in attendance to visit us at the Capital DotNetNuke User Group (C-DUG), where our monthly topic is ALWAYS related to DotNetNuke.

Here are the files and photos from the presentation: http://www.box.net/shared/2nlx6s1e48

@David Crooks: I updated the blog post to include the link to the actual file storage location (http://www.box.net/shared/2nlx6s1e48). It appears that you browser is not displaying "File Viewer" widget at the bottom of the post - do you have Flash installed?

Yes, I saw the pics and didn't see the presentation at the end. Thanks!
